Privacy policy

The short version

Interview audio is never stored, not by us, not anywhere. It streams from your machine to a speech-to-text provider, comes back as text, and is gone. Transcript cloud sync is off by default. If you turn it on, finished transcripts are stored in your account so you can read them in the web dashboard. What we do keep is the account: your email, your credit balance, and a record of what each credit was spent on. If you choose Review this session, that session's transcript is also uploaded and the review is stored with it.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no third-party trackers or advertising cookies on this site or in the app.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the CueStream desktop application for Windows and to the website at cuestream.app, including the account dashboard. The contact address for anything in it is at the bottom of this page.

Audio, and why we do not have it

During a session the app captures your system audio and your microphone so it can transcribe the conversation. That audio does not pass through our servers and is not written to disk. It streams directly from your computer to a third-party speech-to-text provider over an encrypted connection, authorized by a short-lived token our server issues to your app for that one session. The provider returns text; the audio is not retained on our behalf.

Speaker separation works the same way. A short voice sample is used to compute a voiceprint so the app can tell you apart from the interviewer, and the sample is discarded as soon as the voiceprint exists.

We never record video, never capture your screen on our own, and never watch a session.

Transcripts and session history

Transcripts are written to a local database on your own machine. When a session opens, the app records a small shell of it to your account (a title, the start and end time, and the interview type) so the dashboard can show you what each credit was spent on. That shell holds no transcript text.

Automatic transcript sync is off by default. If you switch it on, each finished transcript (the text, speaker labels, timestamps, and any screenshots you attached during the session) is stored in your account so you can read it from the dashboard. Session Evaluation is a separate choice: using it uploads that session's transcript if cloud sync is off, because the saved review links back to the transcript it evaluated. Turning sync back off stops future automatic uploads; anything already synced stays until you delete it.

Resumes and job descriptions

If you attach a resume or a job description, it is stored in your account and used for one purpose: grounding the answers in your actual experience rather than an invented one. It is not used to train any model and is not shared with anyone else. You can delete it from the dashboard at any time.

Session Evaluation

Session Evaluation runs only when you choose Review this session. For that request, CueStream sends the saved transcript text, speaker labels and timestamps to our server together with the interview type and the resume and job-description summaries selected for that session. A large-language-model provider processes that material to produce the review. The original audio is not sent or stored.

The completed evaluation is stored with the session in your account and cached in the desktop app so you can open it again later. It can quote or link back to moments in the transcript. It does not receive your screen, editor, code, test results, notes, whiteboard, or the interviewer's private reactions or scorecard. Deleting the session also deletes its stored evaluation.

Account data we keep

• Identity: your email address, the first and last name you give, an internal account id, and the date you signed up. Accounts are created through Firebase Authentication; if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from that sign-in and never your Google password.
• Credits: your balance, and a history of every change to it: what was granted, what was spent, when, and which session it belonged to.
• Purchases: the identifier of the checkout that granted the credits.
• Referrals: the referral code you arrived with, if there was one.
• Feedback: anything you send through the feedback form, with the account that sent it, so we can reply.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe, on Stripe’s own hosted checkout page. Your card number never touches our servers and we never see it. What we receive is confirmation that a payment succeeded and the identifier of the purchase, which is what grants the credits. Stripe’s handling of your payment details is covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.

Who else processes your data

• Google Firebase: authentication and account storage.
• Stripe: payment processing.
• A speech-to-text provider: live transcription, streamed directly from your machine.
• A large-language-model provider: generating suggested live answers and user-requested Session Evaluation reports from the transcript and context you supplied.
• Cloudflare: hosting for this website, our API, and stored files.

Each of these acts as a processor on our instructions, for the purpose named. None of them receives your data for their own advertising, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

Cookies and tracking

This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers. Signing in stores an authentication token in your browser so you stay signed in. That is the only client-side storage we rely on, and signing out clears it.

How long we keep things

Audio is never retained at all. Account data, credit history, session records, completed evaluations, and any transcripts you chose to sync are kept while your account exists. Delete a session and its evaluation goes with it; delete your account and the rest goes too. Records of completed purchases are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is separate from your account.

Your choices and your rights

• Cloud sync of transcripts is off unless you turn it on, and can be turned back off.
• Individual sessions, transcripts, and resumes can be deleted from the dashboard.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your whole account by emailing support@cuestream.app. We act on it within 30 days.
• Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA: access, correction, deletion, portability, and objecting to processing. The same address handles all of them; there is no charge, and asking changes nothing about the service you get.

Security

Traffic between the app, this site, and our services is encrypted in transit. Stored account data lives in Google Firebase and Cloudflare infrastructure under access rules that scope every record to the account that owns it, and API sessions use tokens that expire after an hour. No system is perfect, which is the argument for storing as little as possible, and the reason audio is not one of the things stored.

Children

CueStream is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed on servers outside your own country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard offered by the provider.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who processes it, we update the date at the top, and for anything material we tell you in the app or by email.
