Can the interviewer see it on screen share?
Not in anything you share or record. The panel is marked with Windows’ own capture-exclusion flag, so screen sharing, screen recording and screenshots capture your desktop with the panel simply absent. It isn’t hidden behind a window or moved off-screen. It’s also kept out of the taskbar and Alt-Tab. What that does not cover: a camera pointed at your screen, a second monitor someone can see over your shoulder, or monitoring software an employer installs on your machine, which reads the running process list rather than the screen.
Does it work on Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, HackerRank, CoderPad?
Yes. CueStream doesn’t integrate with the meeting app at all. It listens to your system audio and your microphone, so it works with anything that makes sound on your machine, including recorded interviews and coding platforms.
What about a phone interview?
Phone mode is built for exactly that. Put the call on speaker; one microphone picks up both sides and CueStream separates the interviewer from you.
Do I need headphones?
No. Real echo cancellation means the interviewer’s voice coming out of your speakers doesn’t get mistaken for yours.
Will the answers sound like a robot read a wiki page?
That’s the thing we optimized hardest against. Everything is generated to be said out loud: short conversational sentences, plain words, no jargon where an everyday word exists, and no syntax you can’t pronounce.
Will it invent a project I never worked on?
No. It’s forbidden from stating any specific about you that isn’t already in your resume, the job description, or the actual conversation. With nothing grounded to draw on, it answers in the present tense about how you’d approach the problem instead of fabricating a past.
What does Session Evaluation review?
It reviews how you communicated the answers CueStream provided: whether your delivery was natural, clear, concise, and responsive to the interviewer. It flags moments that sounded read or overly dense and gives you a specific adjustment to practice next time.
Is the Session Evaluation score a hiring prediction?
No. It is a communication-coaching summary based on the saved conversation. It does not grade the answer CueStream generated, claim that answer as your expertise, or make a hire or no-hire recommendation.
Can I use it for coding rounds?
Yes. Attach a screenshot of the problem and it answers with real code plus what to say while you write it.
How fast is it?
Answers start streaming in roughly a second, and you read while the rest arrives.
Is there a subscription?
No. Buy credits, use them whenever. They don’t expire.
Is there a macOS version?
Not yet. CueStream is built natively for Windows 10 and 11 today, and macOS support is planned.
Am I allowed to use an AI assistant in an interview?
That is between you and whoever is interviewing you. Some employers and assessment platforms explicitly forbid outside help during a live round, and some ask you to agree to proctoring terms before you start. Read what you agreed to. CueStream is used for practice rounds, mock interviews and recorded take-home prep as well as live calls, and the decision about a live round is yours to make.
Does it need to be installed in Zoom, Meet or Teams?
No. There is no plugin, no bot in the participant list and no browser extension. CueStream is a desktop app that listens to the sound your computer is already playing, so the meeting app has nothing to integrate with and nothing new to show the other side.
Does the free hour need a credit card?
No. New accounts get one credit (one hour of live interview) on signup, with no card and no trial period counting down.
Does Session Evaluation grade code I wrote on my screen?
No. It does not grade your code or the technical correctness of an answer CueStream supplied. It focuses on how clearly and naturally you communicated during the coding conversation.
Why can some sessions not be reviewed?
A fair review needs at least eight candidate turns. Shorter sessions remain fully usable as transcripts, but stay Not evaluated and receive no score.
Does it work with the app my interview is on?
Almost certainly, because CueStream listens to your computer’s audio rather than integrating with the meeting app. These pages go through the specifics: how the audio is captured, what each app’s screen sharing actually transmits, and where the limits are.
How exactly does it stay out of a screen share?
Windows has a per-window flag that tells the compositor to leave that window out of anything that captures the screen. The full explanation covers what that does cover, and the several things it does not.
