Prepare an interview from the AI you already talk to

Connect CueStream to Claude, or any assistant that speaks MCP, and it can set up your next interview and review the last one. It cannot start a session: that stays a button you press.

What it is for

During an interview, CueStream's copilot is only allowed to say things it can ground in what you gave it: a summary of your resume, a summary of the job description, and any standing instructions for the round. Those three decide whether an answer is specific to you or generic. Give it nothing and it will not invent a past for you, it will answer in general terms instead.

Writing those well is the part an assistant is genuinely better at than a form. It already has your actual resume, it can read the real posting, and it knows what you told it about the team. It can also do this days ahead, rather than in the two minutes before a call.

Once connected, it can:

  • Set up a session for a specific interview, with the resume summary, job description and instructions your copilot will use during the round.
  • Fill in the rest later, so "I have a Stripe interview Thursday" is enough to start with.
  • List what you have coming up and tell you which ones are still missing a job description.
  • Read back a finished interview: the transcript, the evaluation, and what to work on.

The session you prepare appears in the desktop app, ready to start. All you do on the day is press Start.

Connect it

Add this as a connector in your AI client:

https://mcp.cuestream.app/mcp

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then "Add custom connector", and paste the URL. In other clients the wording differs but the field is the same: a remote MCP server URL.

Your browser opens so you can sign in to CueStream and review what the client is asking for. Approve it and you are connected. You never give the AI client your password, and it never sees one.

You need a CueStream account to connect, and a session has to have synced before the AI can read its transcript. Preparing interviews works from a brand new account with nothing in it.

What it cannot do

Worth saying plainly, because "connect your AI to it" reasonably makes people ask. These are not settings or defaults. There is no tool for any of them, and the server refuses them at a level underneath the tool list, so a bug in the connector cannot reach past it.

  • It cannot start, stop or join a live interview. Only you can.
  • It cannot buy credits or reach anything to do with payment.
  • It cannot spend your credits. Only running an interview does that, and it cannot start one.
  • It cannot delete a session, a transcript or your account.
  • It cannot get at the transcription credentials CueStream uses during a session.

What you are approving

The approval screen groups permissions by what they cost you to agree to, rather than listing them flat. You can connect for preparation alone and leave your transcripts out of it.

  • Can write. The resume summary, job description and instructions your copilot speaks from. This is the one that changes what gets said in an interview.
  • Can run. Generating an evaluation report for a finished interview. That needs a paid account but costs no credits.
  • Can read. Your transcripts, your evaluation reports, and your session history. Transcripts are listed on their own, because that is the sensitive one.

That screen also shows where the connection sends you back to, which is the part CueStream verified. A client picks its own display name, so it is the address that tells you who you are really connecting.

Check the resume summary before a real round

This is the one thing worth your attention. Your copilot treats the resume summary as fact about you and will say it out loud, in your voice, to someone who may ask a follow-up. An assistant writing an inflated job title or a metric you never had does not produce a wrong answer on a screen, it produces one you have to defend in the room.

So the prepared session shows those fields in the app before you start, and you can edit them there. Read them once. It takes a moment and it is the difference between grounded answers and a claim you cannot back up.

Common questions

Can the AI start an interview session on its own?

No, and there is no setting that allows it. Nothing in the connection can start, stop or join a live session. Starting a session captures audio and spends credits, so it stays a button a person presses in the desktop app.

Can it spend my credits?

No. It cannot buy credits and it cannot reach your payment details at all. Generating an evaluation report needs a paid account, but it does not deduct credits either. The only thing that spends credits is running an interview, which the AI cannot start.

Can it delete my sessions or my account?

No. Nothing in the connection deletes anything. Cancelling a prepared session marks it cancelled and keeps the setup, because interviews usually get rebooked.

Does it read my interview transcripts?

Only if you grant that permission when you connect, and only for sessions whose transcript has synced. It is listed separately from the rest of your history on the approval screen so you can decide on it by itself.

What if I connect something and change my mind?

Disconnect it. The access it holds expires within the hour and cannot be renewed once the connection is revoked.

Which AI clients work?

Any client that supports MCP over a remote connection. Claude is tested. Others that speak the protocol should connect with the same URL, though their setup screens differ.
